With the incredible support of our charity partner, What Would Mia Do? Trust, we have been able to launch our first sports-based activities programme for children in refuge.
The Trust was founded in memory of Mia Green who at just 18 years old tragically lost her life in a road accident. As a passionate sportswoman her dream was to make sport accessible to all especially the less privileged. This passion lives on through the charity by helping children between the ages of 5 and 18 years to pursue their dreams regardless of their financial circumstances.
Thanks to the generosity of WWMD, KidsOut was able to fund football training, rugby club memberships, and swimming lessons, plus sports equipment for children in refuge.
A refuge manager told us, “ I have a young man that I whose rugby is the only thing that is getting him through a very challenging time. So many young people have to leave their clubs and friends when they come into refuge and sport is such an amazing way of connecting with new people. I know that this support can literally change their lives.”
