#The Original Giving Tree

Ditch Secret Santa and bring the true meaning of Christmas
to children who have nothing #TheOriginalGivingTree

#TheOriginalGivingTree was created to be a fun alternative to the traditional Secret Santa; instead of buying a fun gift for a colleague, the Giving Tree encourages people to buy a toy for a child fleeing domestic abuse in Refuge. These children typically receive very little – or in some cases nothing at all at Christmas.

Thanks to you, last Christmas we were able to gift 51,070 brand new toys, which were distributed to children who had fled domestic abuse and live in refuge, plus a further 22,199 toys to disadvantaged children, who have life-limiting disabilities, are carers, or are affected by economic hardship.

How it works:

This Christmas, instead of buying fun gifts for colleagues, consider making a meaningful difference by purchasing a gift for a child supported by Refuge. Simply click the sign-up link and fill out the form to take part.

We’ll then send your organisation Giving Tree tags for everyone taking part. Each tag includes the name of a child and the gift they or their parents have said they’d love to receive from Father Christmas. While the names are fictional to protect the children’s identities, the gift requests are real.

You can either purchase the gift yourself from any shop you prefer or use the QR code on each tag to access our online Giving Tree Fun & Happiness Shop. Every toy donated will be included in our Christmas Toy Boxes.

If you choose to buy a physical toy, you can drop it off at one of our many collection points or deliver it directly to our warehouse in Luton.

Last Christmas, we gave 73,269 toys to children—but with more young lives affected by domestic abuse, your support is needed now more than ever.
