In a remarkable initiative, Sustainable Tech 4 Good, led by founder Sue Gowling, has partnered with KidsOut to provide over 400 devices to children in need. This collaboration aims to empower children by giving them access to technology, helping them regain their independence and focus during challenging times.
Refuge Feedback: “Children and mothers alike were very grateful for this and it gave the children something to focus on in difficult times, particularly those who were struggling to come to terms with their circumstances.
How It Works:
Secure Collection: Sustainable Tech 4 Good collects legacy tech at no cost to donors, ensuring a fully audited process.
Data Erasure: Devices are securely data erased to Government Infosec Standard 5 Enhanced, then repaired and refurbished for reuse.
Certification: Donors receive Inclusion and Sustainability Reporting and Data Erasure Certification.
Digital Inclusion Report: Provides direct feedback about who has been helped by the donated tech, allowing donors to share their impact on disadvantaged children.
Additionally, when data erasure and backup are required before donation, these services can be carried out on-site by S4G company experts.
This initiative not only supports digital inclusion but also promotes sustainability by repurposing technology for those in need.
