St Joseph’s School has recently started to convert a large classroom into a renovated sensory room, thanks to the funding from KidsOut. This innovative space is designed to cater to pupils with specific sensory needs, while also enhancing the learning experience for all students.

The sensory room is equipped with a variety of engaging and regulating features, including:
- LED Bubble Tube: A 2-meter high bubble tube with a fibre optic cascade and soft seating.
- Soft Padding: Safe floor padding around the Den and peninsula for comfortable seating.
- Screen: A large second screen for images and videos, adaptable to various lighting conditions.
- Star Ceiling: Fibre optic embedded ceiling tiles that create a starry night effect.
- Infinity Tunnel: A calming sensory effect with controllable colors.
- The Den: A soft, welcoming sensory retreat.
- Wind Machine: A powerful wall-mounted fan for theme-based sensory experiences.
- UV Light: UV reactive materials for science exploration.
- Speakers: Four high-quality Yamaha speakers for immersive soundscapes.
- Body Pillows: Large body pillows to encourage use of all room areas.
- Colourwash Lighting: In-ceiling LED spots for mood transformation.
- Mirror Ball Effect Light: A modern mirrorball for transforming the area into a disco.
- Water Ripple Light: Coloured rippling patterns for mesmerizing effects.
- Moving Head Light: A controllable light for dynamic effects.
- Short Throw Video Projector: Large-scale video projection for thematic learning.
