As part of the charity’s new KidsIn initiative, KidsOut are offering women’s refuges across the UK a FREE three-month subscription to Disney+ . The initial feedback to this project has been phenomenal!
The new streaming service hosts a whole range of movies and TV shows from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and more. The charity are covering the costs of this subscription for refuges, with children and mothers having the opportunity to bond and enjoy quality entertainment while social distancing.
The team have received some lovely feedback from refuge workers, with one telling the team: “I spoke to one of the mums that I support and she said that having access to Disney plus during this time “has been a godsend” and that her children are loving having access to it. They wanted me to pass on the thanks to your organisation as they are really grateful.”
Another added: “thank you so much, the children will love using this over the coming months. We are very grateful for KidsOut’s support. Providing the children with fun activities to do during this difficult period has been truly amazing- 4 very happy families will be logging on tonight!”
KidsOut have also received some lovely Disney themed drawings from children who have accessed Disney+ whilst living in a refuge during the current lockdown period. The team are pleased to see that the initiative has provided a wealth of entertainment for the children, whilst also encouraging educational activities such as formulating sentences listing their favourite films on the streaming service.
KidsOut hope that access to Disney+ alongside receiving their KidsIn Toy Boxes over the coming weeks will bring more Fun and Happiness into disadvantaged children’s lives during the lockdown period.
