On 20th February, KidsOut was delighted to host a heartwarming and memorable Fun Day on Ice in London for mothers and children currently living in refuge.
In partnership with Mirabaud Asset Management Limited, the event saw forty children and twenty-four adults take to the rink for a day filled with laughter, learning, and lasting memories.
With professional skating coaches guiding them through their first glides and twirls, the children enjoyed a full hour on the ice. The day was rounded off with a hot meal and a drink, generously funded by Mirabaud, ensuring the experience was as comforting as it was fun.
The event aimed not only to bring joy, but also to create moments of bonding, normality, and new experiences for children and families who have faced incredibly difficult circumstances.
A special thank you goes to Calum Hedley and the team at Mirabaud Asset Management Limited, whose sponsorship made the day possible. Their support provided every child with the opportunity to try something new and uplifting in a safe, supportive environment.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive:
“Thank you for supporting mothers and children. For giving them a smile and making an unforgettable time in their lives.”
“So grateful for the opportunity, as I could never afford to spoil them like that and they have wanted to ice skate for ages. This was the first time.”
“They enjoyed spending quality time with each other and they learnt a new skill. The children want to go again.”
The day was a resounding success, filled with joy, connection, and resilience — exactly the kind of positive experience that KidsOut aims to provide for children who need it most.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this magical day happen!
