On Wednesday 11th December, KidsOut and its charity partner KidZania collaborated to host an exclusive Christmas Fun Day for over 350 children! The day out offered an amazing experience for those attending, encouraging them to have fun, explore, and learn.
With the venue exclusively open for the charity’s use, the groups KidsOut support could become fully immersed in the world of KidZania, participating in various roles and jobs in the city made for kids. This included putting out fires at the local hotel, hosting radio shows, and transporting medical supplies.
KidZania blends learning and reality with entertainment, allowing the children supported by KidsOut the chance to forget about their worries and build their confidence. The children were exposed to important life and career-based skills while understanding the value of earning and spending money.
Feedback from the event was excellent and it was fantastic to be able to provide such an opportunity in the lead-up to Christmas. One support worker reported that the children ‘were so excited to learn more about the professions and to try them. It helped them to understand the different career choices out there.’ Another told the KidsOut team that ‘it was really great to see them playing and laughing – being able to just be kids.’
The KidsOut team would like to extend a huge thank you to KidZania for hosting this very special Christmas Fun Day, along with their continued support in helping more children enjoy some fun and happiness in their lives. A special thanks is also needed for the Vintners’ Company and Lady Ryder of Warsaw Memorial Trust for their generous grants which helped to fund 100 and 45 of these Fun Days respectively.
