From September to December 2024, our collaboration with Ride High came to fruition, when they offered places to 16 children on their waiting list in the Milton Keynes area. The children enjoyed an immersive 12-week program that provided them with free transport, nutritious meals, creative clubroom projects, and lessons in horse care and handling.

However, the impact of this partnership extended far beyond these resources. Many children reported feeling more confident and emotionally resilient through their interaction with and understanding of the horses. They also experienced a sense of achievement in their efforts and improvements in their relationships.

One child reflected on their experience, saying, “I really enjoyed all of it, especially making new friends and seeing club leader Gabi. I liked riding the horses and feeling more confident. It helped with my anxiety and mental health.”.

Another child shared, “I enjoyed learning to recognise what a horse is feeling. It has helped me stay calm and make new friends.”.
