Amber Dwyer Joins Kids Out As Ambassador

We are delighted to announce that Amber Dwyer is joining KidsOut as an Ambassador.

Amber is a qualified therapist and has spent many years fostering children who had experienced trauma and abuse.

She has three grown-up children, including a son with special needs, who she says has enriched both hers and his siblings’ lives, by providing them all with a heightened sense of empathy, appreciation, patience and resilience.

Amber is herself a survivor of abuse, and talks openly about the violence she experienced for many years. She says, “I refused to be a victim and used my own experiences to help others which was probably the main reason for becoming a fosterer. I wanted every child who lived with my family to know they had someone not only who cared about them but also genuinely understood.”

Amber has published five books and says that writing provides her with an outlet for her creative side, as well as helping her to explore her emotions and the behaviour of others.

She says she is both delighted and proud to join KidsOut as an Ambassador and is looking forward to doing whatever she can to help the most vulnerable children in society.
