Creating Fun & Happiness
We create moments of joy through toy boxes on arrival at the refuge and at Christmas, play, fun days and memorable experiences that help children make happy memories and simply enjoy being children.
Toy Boxes
Every child deserves the chance to simply be a child
EVERY YEAR WE PROVIDE OVER 12000 TOY BOXES ACROSS THE UK
For many children arriving in refuge and safe accommodation, everything they own is left behind. At one of the most frightening times in a child’s life, a KidsOut Toy Box provides carefully selected, brand-new toys and books tailored to each child’s age and stage of development. More than just gifts, they offer comfort, familiarity, and reassurance, showing every child that they are seen, valued, and not alone.
“Toy boxes allow children to forget worries of their past and focus on new beginnings with their new toys. Mothers and children have to flee their homes with nothing but their clothes on their backs, so giving toys really makes a big difference to their wellbeing and happiness.”

At Christmas, we provide a second Toy Box filled with age-appropriate gifts, helping children in refuge experience the joy, excitement, and magic of Christmas. Together, these Toy Boxes mark both the beginning of a family’s journey to safety and a reminder that brighter days lie ahead.
“I didn’t think Santa would find me here even though I have been good.”

Fun Days and Experiences
Helping children and young people remember what it is like to have a childhood
WE PROVIDE THOUSANDS OF FUN EXPERIENCES TO FAMILIES ACROSS THE UK EVERY YEAR
KidsOut also gives children and young people living in refuge and safe accommodation the opportunity to enjoy fun days out and memorable experiences. For families who have had to prioritise survival and the essentials, these moments offer the chance to laugh, play, explore, and simply enjoy being together.
